Regular and systematic staff training supports the company’s development and enables employees’ professional growth, internal mobility and career advancement at Slovenske železnice Group.

The Education and Training Centre is a one-stop shop for professional and administrative support to all training and education processes in the Group.

We have a skilled team of instructors who carry out the tasks of the Train Driver Training Centre and the Train Driver Examination Centre for all programmes. On top of delivering comprehensive training sessions to staff with safety-related duties, we offer functional skills courses for employees in both production and back office positions in the Group. Our documentation related to training, refresher training and competency assessment is centrally managed and overseen.

In order to make our training and education accessible to all of the Group’s staff, we deliver a wide range of courses which teach the functional skills required in a given job or serve as additional opportunities to develop new skills in various areas.

Where we are

While the Training and Education Centre is situated at Aljaževa ulica 32 in Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana, we run training courses also in the towns of Maribor, Zidani Most, Celje and Divača, with refresher training classes delivered across Slovenia.

The Centre’s new and modern facilities allow us to adapt our teaching styles based on the needs of both learners and instructors. The classrooms all have internet access and are fitted with interactive LCD displays and cameras for either face-to-face or remote training courses.

Who we are

We are a team of professionals with many years of experience in the rail sector. We support the professional growth of our instructors and employ modern teaching methods and learning tools in a structured and supportive learning environment. Both learners and instructors can borrow computer equipment during courses and have access to quality learning materials in line with the current adult education guidelines. We take pride in our personalised approach and commitment to supporting each learner throughout the learning process.

How we teach

For better understanding of our education and training sessions, we apply various teaching styles and make full use of the opportunities offered by modern technology. We create our own educational videos, online tests, and applications designed to keep learners interested and engaged. We also do guided tours of train stations and other rail facilities to offer a first-hand look at the relevant work processes. Our aim is to deliver courses which are dynamic and satisfy the learners’ needs, thereby making the learning process the most effective we can.
